About

WEB-38Hello, friends! My name is Amy, although growing up I was mostly known as “Whitebread.” Which even though I’ve been married for almost 13 years, I’ll always think of myself as Whitebread and why wouldn’t I, because c’mon, there just isn’t really a cooler name out there! (I even have the tattoo to prove it…ssshhhh.)

And honestly sometimes I think this world could use a bit more “cool” and a lot less picture-perfect glam, something that everyone seems to want to portray 24/7. So that’s where I come in. I’m your average Midwestern farm girl who grew up on Dairy Queen and cornfields. I’m your simple reminder that life, real life anyway, has nothing to do with how you portray yourself on social media or in the face of others, but everything to do with how you live it.

So if you’re looking for a little more real and a lot less air-brushed perfection, I encourage you to follow along with me as I do my best to keep it real. I have yet to perfect the hand-on-hip pose but I’m probably becoming quite the expert in f*cking up my kids’ lives in one way or another. But I’m learning as I go along. And most importantly I’m doing the best I can (well, most days, some I just throw in the towel and drink a beer).  But in between the neverending tasks of surviving my daily life with three amazing, yet equally challenging kids, I’m also trying to remember most days that I’m also a wife and someone with an actual name, not just MOOOMMM!!

Life is beautiful. Life is chaos. Life is challenging. But we only have one shot to do with it what we can. In my 40 years I’ve lived. I’ve grieved. I’ve loved. I’ve learned. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

“If you don’t know, the thing to do is not to get scared, but to learn.” – Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
